Building Official

Part-Time

The Part-time Building Official administers the CT State Building Code and applicable

ordinances, statues, and regulations to ensure the public safety, health and welfare affected by

building construction and to secure safety to life and property from all hazards incident to the

occupancy of buildings and structures. Performs inspection, investigates complaints,

enforcement and administrative duties to assure that residential, commercial and other properties

comply with the State Building Codes.

Must have an Associate's Degree or advanced training in a field related to building construction

and/or design from an accredited college or program and have over five (5) years of experience

in supervising the construction or design of buildings or any equivalent combination of

education, training and work experience to meet state certification requirement. Must have and

maintain State Certificate Building Official license and a valid driver's license.

Town of Windham

Accounting Supervisor

Full Time

This is highly responsible, professional, complex, and confidential accounting, administrative

and supervisory work involving the performance of a variety of professional financial control

functions. The work involves responsibility for the supervision of all accounting functions and

the analysis and reconciliation of various financial statements. The duties and responsibilities

range from making difficult accounting technical decisions to performing functions such as

account reconciliation, cash management, accounting for various Town funds, monthly financial

reports, year-end reports, financial analysis and internal audits. The work involves the regular

exercise of independent judgment and initiative based on general knowledge of the Town's

administrative policies and procedures, and considerable knowledge, skill and ability on every

phase of municipal accounting and control functions.

Must have a Bachelor's Degree from a recognized college or university in accounting, business,

finance, or a related field. Certified Public Accountant is preferred. Courses in government

accounting plus (5) years of responsibility accounting experience, including at least two (2) years

in government and two (2) years of supervisory experience or, in lieu thereof, an equivalent

combination of education and experience. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel required.

Knowledge of municipal financial software such as Phoenix or Munis preferred. Salary range

$70,000/Negotiable.
