First Selectwoman's Report

Tuesday, June 16, 2009

Thank you to:

The Willimantic Victorian Neighborhood Association for the phenomenal job of organizing the Victorian Days and to the hundreds of volunteers who assisted. Special thanks to public works, Matt Vertefeuille, residents, and AIC workers to cleaned up streets and sidewalks.

Windham Middle School student Zachary Quamme, who broadcasts live on WILI on Saturday mornings at 9:30. It helps us all to participate, and to take pride in the many accomplishments of our students.

Congratulations to:

Windham TSA students, who placed in every event that they competed in this year at the CT State Conference.

Chief Lisa Maruzo-Bolduc for being elected Vice President of the Connecticut Chiefs Association

Town Clerk Patty Spruance, for achieving the status of “Certified Municipal Town Clerk” through 100 hours of coursework. Patty has also been pursuing her bachelor's degree, which should be completed in 2010. As her senior project, she is working on a high school curriculum to help Town Clerks introduce Federal, State and Local Civics in classrooms.
