Windham Historic District Commission

The Windham Historic District Department is not a Department but rather a Commission designed to preserve and protect the pleasant and desired historic appearance of local historic district(s) in the Town of Windham as provided under Connecticut Statute: Historic Districts and Historic Properties, Section 7-147, as amended.

The Commission reviews each proposal for constructing, demolishing or altering exterior architectural features of buildings, structures, and signs in the Historic District and, after a public hearing, it determines whether to grant a Certificate of Appropriateness.
