Inland Wetlands & Watercourses

 
The Land Use Boards and Commissions adopt regulations governing the use, bulk, and density of land, subdivision of property, protection of property from flood and protection of inland wetlands and watercourses as authorized by Connecticut State Law. The operations of the Zoning Board of Appeals, Zoning Commission, and Planning Commission and the Inland Wetlands Commission are responsible for enforcement, regulation and protection of land use in the Town of Windham. Their goals and objectives are to continue to guide development through the development process; uphold the Town’s regulations to ensure health, safety and well being of the Town’s residents and to continue to examine the regulations for possible revision in accordance with the Town Plan of Conservation & Development, and/or State of CT law (i.e. wetlands regulations, Town Plan).
Commission established on 6/19/92, Resolution #704 and Resolution #714—8/18/92. Commission changed by Ordinance 2177 on 10/21/03, Effective 1/1/04.
