The Town of Windham is a member of the North Central Health District whose responsibilities include:  the inspections of  our local restaurants, water systems, wells, health education, pandemic and bio-terrorism response systems.  Ocassionally, the NCHD is asked to test school children for potential health related problems.  Also included in its work are requests to have vermin removed from homes.  Members of the commission travel to Enfield and to Rockville Hospital in Vernon to meet with the other member towns.
