Water Pollution Control Authority
Rene Goss Chairman
The Windham Water Pollution Control Authority manages the Town of Windham Water Pollution Control Facility (WPCF). The WPCF serves the Town of Windham, including the City of Willimantic, with a sanitary sewer system. It consists primarily of an underground network of piping fed by gravity to a treatment plant designed to effectively treat up to 5.5 million gallons per day (MGD) of average daily flow.
Willimantic Traffic Authority
The Willimantic Traffic Authority operates under Connecticut State Statutes and is responsible for placing and maintaining traffic signals, signs and pavement markings on town roads within the Willimantic Service District. The Traffic Authority also has jurisdiction over municipal parking lots. Requests for signs and such should be directed to the Town Engineer. When three requests are received the Traffic Authority conducts a public meeting on the requests. The Town Engineer functions as the Chairman.
